Media - LB (Luria-Bertani)

This is a very basic recipe used in any lab. It is probably THE most used bacteria medium.
Costs: 0.85 euro/liter

Composition:

1.0 % Tryptone
0.5 % Yeast Extract
1.0 % NaCl
10 g Tryptone
5 g Yeast Extract
10 g NaCl
  -- add 950 ml water
adjust the pH to 7.0 with 5 M NaOH
  -- add water to 1 liter


Autoclave for 20 min at 120 °C

Let cool to ca. 55 °C before adding antibiotics

Store at room temperature or 4 °C

Plates:

Prepare LB as described above, but add before autoclaving:

1,5 % Agar 15 g Agar

Materials needed:

Tryptone (# T1332.1000) by Duchefa
Yeast Extract (# Y1333.1000) by Duchefa
